Workshop making and keeping members and collecting contributions
On 30 June and 1 July, BIZNESALBANIA with the support of DECP organised a special workshop for its members on “making and keeping members”, with a special focus on “collection of contributions”. About 20 staff and board members attended the workshop. Presentations were given by Prof. Erik Van Vooren and Ronald Driesen who received the highest evaluation by the participants at the end of the session. J.M. Standaert, country manager for Albania attended the workshop.
Participants gave an insight into the various reasons why collecting the membership fees is so difficult in Albania: they are often considered to be a kind of tax, the invoices are high, often associations don’t keep their promises and don’t deliver the services members expect. From the discussions it was clear that business organisations in Albania have to work on their credibility and earn the confidence of their members. In concluding the workshop participants indicated they would undertake a number of initiatives such as updating their database of members, improve their communication and relationship with the media.
It was agreed that the next activity by BIZNESALBANIA would be a training session on “how to draft a newsletter”.
