Working towards an FKE Business Agenda for 2015-2017

A one day mission to the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) in Nairobi was undertaken by the DECP Country Manager Andrew Moore on 28 July 2014.

The mission provided the opportunity to meet a number of newly appointed staff at the FKE and to take forward the workplan agreed between the DECP and the FKE for the period 2014-2017.

One of the main issues discussed was the preparation and publication of an FKE Business Agenda for the period 2015-17. The agenda would set out a number of key issues facing the FKE membership and the proposed actions by the FKE.

The FKE faces a number of challenges resulting from the newly agreed national Constitution. One key issue is the ability of the FKE to respond to the passing of a number of powers to a regional level. DECP agreed to work with the FKE in looking in detail at how the FKE could respond to these challenges.
