Visit to CERM/BCM in Macedonia

From 13 to 15 July 2010, Mr. Standaert, country manager of DECP for Macedonia, paid an advisory visit to CERM in Skopje.  

The Confederation of Employers of the Republic of Macedonia has recently changed its name into “Business Confederation of Macedonia”. With this change the organisation wants to underline that it is more than merely an employers’ organisation, but that, in view of the forthcoming accession negotiations, it deals with all business issues of its members.  

Main discussion points during the visit were the important conclusions of a study on “seasonal work” carried out in the framework of the AgBiz Program of USAID. With support of DECP, the Confederation will now launch an important advocacy and lobby programme with the aim to solve the numerous social problems 
in the food processing industry linked with seasonal work.
