Third and final session: Training of Trainers concluded in Ho Chi Minh City
Negotiating skills are vital tools for most of us but in particular for employers’ organisations. For that reason DECP continued the previous series of training sessions on “Negotiations in Industrial Relations” for the benefit of VWEC Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) the second part of 2012, after a first round in Hanoi in 2011.
After the first two sessions in HCMC the final session took place in November 2012, after which the ToT was concluded. Objective: in the end (after the Hanoi region with twenty trainers) the HCMC region will have 17 certified trainers being able to train and consult employers and other parties on the issue of Labour relations/ negotiating labour conditions/ CLA. Just like in Hanoi the translation –supported by DECP - of the book Negotiations in Industrial Relations proved to be very useful. Also a booklet of Vietnamese negotiations cases composed by the Hanoi trainers was used in this course. In the final ToT the participants were scheduled -in couples- to facilitate the complete course. So in two groups each couple took care of facilitating a part of the training, while other future trainers acted as participants in the course. Each part was evaluated immediately afterwards by participants and Dutch trainers. The progress of the future trainers in facilitating suitable to our course was considerable. Nine of them were selected to take care of facilitating the regular course for the next week, again with a good result.
