The Ghana Employers Association's Agenda for 2013
The DECP country manager for Ghana Andrew Moore undertook a four day mission to the Ghana Employers Association (GEA) in Accra from 12 – 15 February 2013.
The advisory mission provided the opportunity to complete the work undertaken by the GEA in preparing a “Membership Pack”. The GEA, with support from the DECP, will be able to use the pack as a tool not only for informing current members of the services offered by the GEA but also as a tool for recruiting new members into the organisation.
The mission also provided the opportunity for discussions to take place regarding a number of events that the GEA are planning to hold during the course of 2013 with both technical and financial assistance from the DECP.
These events will include:
- A national seminar to be held in Accra in April on “The High Cost of Finance – The Impact on Employment”.
- Two regional events to inform members of the work of the GEA and also to provide the opportunity to recruit new members.
- A two day training programme for the members of the GEA Council to inform them on their role and responsibilities and to look to the future work programme for the GEA in 2014 and beyond.
- A one day training programme for GEA staff to assist them in their dealings with their members and potential members.
