support in drafting a workplan for the AEB

With the aim to develop an action plan to strengthen the AEB, Mr. J.M. Standaert visited the AEB, the Association of Employers of Burundi, from 8 to 11 September 2010 in Bujumbura. He had an extended range of meetings with the secretary-general of the AEB, Mr. Gaspard Nzisabira, on the ways to develop new activities and services for AEB members.  

He also discussed the possible recruitment of an assistant to the secretary-general in order to work on the recruitment of new members, collecting membership fees, the setting up of sectoral and regional branches and the editing and publication of a monthly newsletter. 

He was also informed about the activities of AEB regarding the combat of AIDS in the companies. Apart from meeting with the AEB, he also visited the AFAB, the Business Women Association of Burundi, in order to discuss the possibilities for them to be involved in a recent call for proposals of EuropeAid.
