Retreat of the Ghana Employers Federation facilitated
DECP staff organised and facilitated a 2 day retreat for the Board of the Ghana Employers Association (GEA) on 3 and 4 November 2017. The main objective was to examine and define with the board new plans for the further development of the organisation.
GEA is the main and most representative employers’ organisation of the country; it regroups about 500 direct members and about 10 sector associations with a few thousand company members.
GEA is mainly active in labour issues ; it also offers substantial services in the field of labour and social affairs (training, labour law services, assistance with collective bargaining, employers of the year award, training for women managers). It also has defined some critical issues in the business environment in Ghana on which it intends to work more. Like energy provision, skills mismatch, access to finance and pensions.
The main conclusions of the retreat will now form the input for the new Strategic Plan for the years 2018-2019, to be formulated in the beginning of 2018.
