A new Employers’ Confederation was founded on 9 June 2008 in Kosovo. It is called KPK, Kosovo Employers’ Confederation. Chairman is Prof. Ajri Begu, former chairman of the Governing Board of the BPK, the Banking and Payment Authority of Kosovo.
With the aim of attracting new members, KPK and DECP organized from 6 to 9 October promotional conferences in the municipalities of Prizren, Gjakova, Ferizaj and Gjilan. In the latter, the conference was chaired by the Mayor, Mr. Quemajl Mustafa, being himself an entrepreneur. Each conference was attended by 20 to 30 local employers.
The conferences were opened with a presentation about KPK by Mr. Begu. This presentation was followed by a lecture about “Challenges for Employers of Kosovo”, by J.M. During the preparation for its foundation, KPK could benefit from the assistance of the colleagues of the neighboring Macedonia, CERM.
