Promoting Fiscal Reform

On Thursday 7 June, the Union of Employers of the Federation of BiH, together with the University of Travnik, organised a conference in Vitez, a town in the center of Bosnia-Herzegovina, with the participation of the Prime Minister, Mr. Niksic, and the Minister of Finance, Mr. Krajina. The conference was chaired by Mr. Cengic, president of UPFBiH, who was assisted by Mr. Grabovac, a former PM of the Federation and at present rector of the University of Travnik. There was broad support for the view that in order to improve the competitiveness of the private sector the level of social insurance contributions would have to be changed.

The conference was co-funded by DECP which was represented by its country manager, Mr. J.M. Standaert.
