President of DECP speaks at 60th anniversary of the Suriname employers' organisation VSB
In his speech Bernard Wientjes emphasized the importance of an employers' organisation in a globalising world. Wientjes told from his own experience (he is a former board member of a multinational company for ceramic products) how important it is for companies to speak with one voice and to be a member of an organisation which lobbies the government for a good business climate in the country. Members should be active to build a strong organisation which represents them in discussions with the government and the trade unions.
The VSB also presented a manifesto with its lobby priorities and offered this to the president of Suriname, Ronald Venetiaan. DECP congratulated the VSB in a short speech and received a ‘gratitude award’ together with about ten VSB members.
