Opportunities for future cooperation
From 26 till 31 August 2013 DECP country manager Jan Karel Bout visited Jakarta. During the visit it was noted that Indonesia is clearly feeling the consequences of the economic slowdown in emerging markets as well as the foreseen contraction in the money supply by the federal reserve board of the US. The necessary reforms of the economy should now be picked up. This is seen not easy with elections taking place next year. The employers organisation Apindo is playing an important role in advising the government on economic policy.
Jan Karel Bout discussed with Apindo board members and its newly appointed CEO opportunities for future cooperation between Apindo and DECP. In the coming months new items and plans for cooperation in the period 2014-2017 will be discussed between Apindo and DECP.
