Higher standards in Occupational Safety and Health

During a three day training course (April 8 – 10) Vietnamese trainers, who had earlier been trained by DECP on the issue of OSH in 2013, were introduced to the ILO EOSH- package (E-learning). This package has been translated into Vietnamese in 2014 with the support of DECP. The trainers proved to be very happy with this tool, which helps them to guide companies to a higher level of  OSH.

The VCCI/VWEC (Chamber of Commerce) thus can stimulate a proactive policy within Vietnamese companies on this very important issue. The trainers will be able to help companies implement an OSH policy, which can truly change behaviour towards safety and health at the workplace. Knowledge is not enough however, awareness, skills and attitude towards this issue are needed for real change into a positive direction. Further steps are needed to develop the market for trainings with this tool.
