Getting to know the Employers' Federation of Ceylon

Early in October 2011 Jan Karel Bout visited the Employers Federation of Ceylon in their head- quarters in Colombo the capital of Sri Lanka. During the visit Ravi Peirisand Kanishka Weerasinghe respectively CEO and Deputy CEO of FEC explained the vision : “ to promote social harmony through productive employment “ and the mission of FEC. They also provided insight in the membership and the services provided to members of their organization.

EFC is mostly involved in supporting the members in the field of Labor and assists in collective bargaining, legal affairs, salary advice and organizes trainings for members.

The possibilities of future cooperation between DECP and FEC were explored and it seemed evident that there is ample scope for cooperation. It was agreed to strengthen the links between DECP and FEC and investigate opportunities for cooperation in the future.
