Getting to know the Conseil National du Patronat du Togo
From 25 - 27 September 2011, Bram van Overbeeke and J.M. Standaert, carried out a fact-finding mission to Togo. They were warmly welcomed by the Bureau and the Executive Director of the “Conseil National du Patronat du Togo”, CNP Togo. They were introduced to the CNPT governing board and received extensive information about the organisation, the staff and their main concerns. In addition, the executive staff of CNP Togo arranged useful meetings with important stakeholders, such as the Minister of Trade and Promotion of the Private Sector, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, leaders of several trade unions and the local representative of the European Union.
At the end of the mission, several proposals were discussed and agreed for further collaboration between CNP Togo and DECP, the most promising of which appeared to be one or more workshops on Communication with members and also on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). DECP will submit a detailed proposal out of which CNPT will make a selection according to its priorities.
Both sides agreed that, in due course, a partnership agreement between CNPT and DECP would be an appropriate objective.
