Future development of the East African Employers Organisation (EAEO)

A three day mission to the Association of Tanzanian Employers (ATE) was undertaken by the DECP country manager Andrew Moore from 26-29 October 2014.

The mission provided the opportunity to discuss the proposed plans for the future development of the East African Employers Organisation (EAEO) which had been agreed at the EAEO Executive Committee meeting in Nairobi in September.

During the course of the mission meetings also took place with a number of staff at ATE. The preparation of a new ATE Membership Pack was discussed in detail and it was agreed that this would be ready in time for the planned Employer of the Year Award which is due to take place in December 2014.

The proposed ATE Business Agenda was also discussed and it was agreed that meetings will take place with a number of sectoral organisations over the coming weeks in preparation of a draft document.

The meetings took place in the new offices of ATE which are now situated on the outskirts of Dar es Salaam.
