First steps towards Social Dialogue
On Thursday and Friday 15 and 16 March, J.M. Standaert co-chaired the BOSMIP 4 Round Table organised by APBiH with financial support of the European Union, via BUSINESSEUROPE, and of DECP. The meeting was dedicated to the social dialog in Bosnia-Herzegovina. It was attended by representatives of Workers’ and Employers’ Organisations but the governments as well at state level as at entity level didn’t attend although they had been invited.
BUSINESSEUROPE had invited 2 experts, one from Belgium and another from its own organisation who shared their knowledge and experience on social dialogue in the EU.
As conclusion of fruitful sessions and debates, all participants agreed to send a joint letter to the Council of Ministers of BiH with the request to set-up an economic and social council at state level. Copies of this letter will be sent to the media, the head of the EU delegation, the parliament, etc. with the aim to get their support for the request.
