Finally back in Pakistan
The DECP Country Manager Andrew Moore undertook a mission to the Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP) from 20 – 23 June 2022. The first in person meeting since the start of the pandemic.
The main objective of the mission was to advise the EFP of the amalgamation of the DECP with PUM and the possible implications for the future work of the EFP. A meeting was arranged with the local representatives of PUM in Karachi together with the EFP and the DECP. It was agreed that PUM would work with the EFP on specific projects with experts from The Netherlands.
The mission also provided the opportunity to discuss in detail the outcome of two projects between the DECP and the EFP started in 2021. One on social dialogue and one on membership management, which are the two main pillars of the DECP. The EFP provided the DECP with full reports on the outcome of the projects together with the final accounts. EFP thus showed significant progress.
The mission concluded with Andrew Moore advising the secretariat of the EFP that this would be his last mission to Pakistan as his work with the DECP would be completed at the end of 2022.
