Developing services for members of the ACCI

From 25 till 29 November 2012 a delegation of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry attended a workshop at the Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITC/ILO) in Turin, Italy. This on the invitation of DECP and ITC/ILO and as a follow-up to the capacity building workshops for ACCI delegations in 2008 and 2011. This year the meeting concentrated in particular on services for exporting companies.

At the end of the meeting the participants pledged to work in the near future on measures to enhance imports and exports. It was felt as highly relevant and necessary because of the changing economic environment after the foreign troops will have left Afghanistan in 2014. The training was partly attended by the Consul General of Afghanistan in the Netherlands Mr. Ehsan Turabaz. For DECP Jan Karel Bout participated as a tutor in the training. In the near future the possibilities on how and in which way ACCI can be further supported will be discussed.
