DECP supports workshop for managers of regional employers' organisations
On April 17th general managers of regional Bolivian employer organizations organized a workshop in order to exchange expertise and experience. The focus of the workshop, that took place in Cochabamba, was not on policies but on managing employer organizations. All seven general managers of the regional federations participated.
One of the themes discussed was about the services federations can provide to their members and to individual companies. The managers also discussed if it is desirable to open up membership for individual companies or whether it should be better to limit membership to sectoral organizations (cámaras). That raised the question how to set up voting. Should voting be weighted? And if so, how can votes be weighted?
According to the participants the workshop, that was organized with support of DECP, filled in a serious need of general managers. Therefore they decided to meet again in Sucre later this year.
