DECP supports the Employers Confederation in Manila

The DECP supported the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) both financially as well as technically by attending and contributing to a two day workshop for representatives from ECOP Regional Chapters from across the Philippines.

The workshop provided the opportunity for some 30 delegates to discuss in detail how they can develop their own Chapters and what support they needed from ECOP head office. The workshop not only provided an excellent networking opportunity for representatives from the Chapter but also enabled them set out an action plan to be implemented at a Chapter level.

The mission by the DECP country manager also provided the opportunity to hold discussions on the development of the ASEAN Employers Organisation (ACE) of which ECOP will take the Chair in April of 2017. The proposed meeting for all ACE members in Jakarta in April to meet with the ASEAN secretariat was discussed in detail.

The mission concluded with DECP having an initial discussion on possible future cooperation between the DECP and ECOP.
