DECP signs Partnership Agreement with the Federacion de Empresarios de Chuquisaca
Thieu Korten, former country manager of DECP for Bolivia, and Peter Boorsma, who became country manager for Bolivia starting 1st of May, visited the departments Cochabamba, Oruro and Chuquisaca in Bolivia from 9th to 17th of April.
In Cochabamba they discussed a number of current cooperation projects with the Federación de Entitades Empresarialas Privadas de Cochabamba, like a business survey, the certification of the FEPC and the publication of a Magazine. With the Cámara de Construcciónes the possibility of a Laboratory for Aphalt, Soil and Concrete was discussed. In the department of Oruro the first steps for the establishment of a Centre for Arbitration were made.
In the department of Chuquisaca DECP signed a Partnership Agreement with the Federación de Empresarios Privados of Chuquisaca. FEPCh is a regional private sector employers’ federation, comprising eight different chambers and associations, whose objective is to promote private entrepreneurship as the main vehicle for the achievement of sustainable development. DECP and FEPCh agreed to cooperate in the following areas:
- strategic planning, attracting and keeping members;
- provision of services to members;
- advocacy of employers' interests in general and members' interests in particular;
- internal and external communication;
- good governance and
- ensuring continuity of the organisation.
The cooperation in these areas will consist of setting up training courses, organizing workshops, organizing conferences, action planning, implementation of plans and review of plans, the actual construction of communications tools and more.
