DECP assists Indonesian employers in minimum wage discussions
From August 29 till August 31 2012 DECP discussed with and trained Indonesian Employers in Minimum Wage systems in Jakarta. This together with ITC/ILO from Turin. The Minimum Wage system has been decentralized to the regions and the final decision on the rates is in the hands of the regional governors. Employers and negotiators of The Indonesian Employers Federation ( Apindo) exchanged views and experiences under the present system.
International comparisons were taken under review and negotiating techniques as well as objective criteria for Minimum Wage setting were taken into consideration. This training was for Employers and negotiators of Central Java. It was felt to be a success and in the early months of 2013 similar trainings will be organized for representatives of respectively East and West Indonesia.
