Constructing the future of Nepal

The DECP undertook a two day mission to Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in Kathmandu in July 2019.

The mission had two main objectives. The first was to discuss in detail how the DECP could enhance the work of the FNCCI with its members in relation to employment issues. It was agreed that a two day workshop would be held in November in Kathmandu for some 20 regional staff. The workshop would look in detail at membership recruitment and retention as well as the services being offered. The workshop would also provide an introduction to negotiation skills for regional staff who have an increasing role to play now that a number of employment issues have been devolved to the seven regions of Nepal.

The second objective of the mission was to prepare the next meeting of the South Asian Forum of Employers (SAFE) which will be held in Kathmandu in February 2020.
