Combined advisory missions to Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya
From 14 -18 December 2009 DECP's country manager, Andrew Moore visited the DECP partner organisations in the 3 countries mentioned above.
In Uganda he took the opportunity to attend part of the Negotiation training offered to the staff and members of the Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) by trainers of the Dutch general employers' association AWVN. Together with FUE's Executive Director, Rosemary Ssenabulya, he discussed upcoming events, amongst others the Employer of the Year and how to involve more small and medium sized enterprises in this event in the future.
Two days were spent in Tanzania, at the Association of Tanzania Employers ATE. Most of the discussions were held with the newly appointed staff member, responsible for Membership Recruitment and Retention. Amongst others they exchanged ideas regarding the proposed ATE Membership Survey and which approaches can be undertaken to both members and potential members to make sure that they are fully aware of the services offered.
The last day of the trip was spent in Kenya, at the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE). Andrew attended a meeting of the FKE Executive Director and senior staff who are currently working out a strategic plan for the next three years.
