Advisory mission to Ghana Employers Association

Andrew Moore, the DECP Country Manager for Ghana, made one of his regular visits to the Ghana Employers Association (GEA) from 21-25 September 2009.

He had meetings with the President of the GEA Charles Cofie, during which he discussed a number of issues on how the GEA can enhance its profile and also increase its membership.

Meetings also took place with Alex Frimpong, the Acting Executive Director, as well as with a number of the senior staff. During the discussions they looked at how to enhance the GEA regional offices in order that they may be able to play a more effective role in recruitment and retention of members. The role of the Industrial Relations department was also discussed and how this work could be developed.

The visit concluded with a meeting of the Acting Executive Director and all the senior staff during which a number of comments and ideas were discussed on how to take things forward.
