Advisory mission to CNPM in Moldova

From February 11-13, Jean-Marie Standaert visited the National Confederation of Employers of the Republic of Moldova (CNPM), where he met with following sector organisations:

• UTD, Union of Transport and Road Builders;

• the National Employers’ Federation of Constructors, Road-Builders and Producers of Building Materials, a new Confederation of the Construction Sector;

• FNPAIA, Employers of Agro-industry and Food processing.

All the organizations stressed the need for assistance on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), as the government is preparing a new law on OSH, based on the EU-regulations, which will enter into force on 1 January 2009.

Other possibilities for cooperation were discussed like assisting in the launch of an informative bulletin and support in trainings according to the needs of each organization.

Later in the year these matters will be followed up.
