Advice to Surinam employer organisation VSB
DECP advised the Suriname Employers' Organisation VSB (Suriname Trade and Industry Association) on several subjects from 21th until 24th of August. DECP analyzed the structure of the VSB, its revenues and representativeness.
Suggestions were made to increase the representativeness and to combat the phenomenon of members who don't pay the membership fee. The statutes of the VSB were scrutinized and will be updated and a more active PR-policy was recommended.
Also the communication with the members could be improved by modernising several publications.
The VSB had already drafted a list of possible paid services to increase its revenues. This list was extensively discussed and will probably be followed by some pilot projects.
