Addressing the needs of Small and Medium Enterprise

On 19 and 20 June DECP special advisor Rogier CHORUS, together with MONEF staff member Narmandakh, gave a seminar to 24 representatives of professional associations on sustainable SME growth and development in Mongolia.

The participants actively discussed SME policies. At the end of the seminar they developed a list of priorities, and on this basis an ‘Action Plan for promoting sustainable SME in Mongolia’ was formulated.

Important elements are the provision of training facilities for management and employees by MONEF and the professional associations; the development of SME export promotion and technology clusters; tax credits and financial support for SME investments; SME accessibility of government procurement; and public wage policies that do not exceed of productivity gains in the private sector.
