Addressing structural issues
The Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) faces a number of challenges both in financial terms as well as in its structure. It also faces a number of issues in respect of the completion of its new offices on the outskirts of Kampala.
In order to address a number of these issues the DECP financed and facilitated a two day retreat for members of the FUE Council. This provided members and staff with the opportunity to discuss in detail their vision for the future of the FUE and what action they needed to take to overcome the current problems and to put the FUE on a more sustainable platform.
It was agreed that members of the Council would undertake work over the coming weeks to look in detail at the finances, structure and offices of the FUE and would report back on 3 December at a meeting to be arranged in Kampala.
