A Lobbying seminar in the northern region
On 17 and 18 June 2015 DECP special advisor Rogier CHORUS held a seminar on lobbying capacity building at local and central levels for 36 persons, mainly members of the MONEF regional associations in North Mongolia, and some central MONEF staff members.
At the meeting that was held on the shores of the Huvsgul Lake, the participants actively discussed ways to strengthen the MONEF lobby at local and national level. A case on the supply of electricity was used to apply lobby theory to a concrete issue that is vital to Mongolian producers. Attention was also given to membership acquisition: the participants agreed that a successful lobby is vital for enhancing the attractiveness of MONEF at both local and central levels.
