A Conference on Women Entrepreneurship
On Thursday 10 April, J.M. Standaert, country manager for Macedonia, attended a Conference on “Women Enterpreneurship: Promotion, Lobbying and Advocacy” in Skopje organised by the Association of Business Women of Macedonia which is a member of BusinessMacedonia (BCM): there were about 100 participants and several interesting proposals were raised during the conference, such as the need for an action plan for 2020, as well as the need for business mentors/coaches for new entrepreneurs, the need for a reform of the labour law, in particular for the promotion of part-time work and child care. Access to capital was identified as a major constraint and thus a dialogue with the banks is urgently needed. The conference was financially supported by DECP.
